Acne is a common skin condition especially in teenagers but it can affect people of all ages. It can have a big impact on well-being.  Mild to moderate acne can often be treated with creams, gels, antibiotic tablets, and oral contraceptives. However, moderate to severe acne can lead to scarring. 

 

Roaccutane is a highly effective drug for acne that does not respond to conventional treatments or where scarring is evident. Patients need to be carefully selected and counselled for its use. Monthly visits are required for the regular
monitoring that is necessary. Bloods are also done 4 times during treatment , and females need to have a monthly pregnancy test taken. 

 

The initial consultation is €200 and the monthly follow up appointments are €100.
